Dedicated Automotive Network Design Using Zigbee for V2V

V. Gomathy, S. Sheeba Rani

Abstract

Intelligent Transport system incorporates Vehicle to Vehicle Communication system as a network that connects vehicles in the road. The main aim of this system is to reduce the number of accidents on road. In the V2V system, a mesh network is created using Zig bee module, Bluetooth, USB to UART, Display and senses the basic information from the first vehicle and thus giving it to the Zig bee controller. The Zig bee enables the Bluetooth module to transmit the information to any other vehicle coming into the critical radius. In the adjacent vehicle, it is facilitated with Bluetooth module to receive the signal from the primary vehicle. This Bluetooth module, in turn, gives the signal to the Zig bee controller and then to the display so that the driver can be alert to the adjacent vehicles. This also includes the vehicle for infrastructure communication. As like V2V, the V2I system also has the onboard unit having Zig bee and Bluetooth which gives signals to the nearby vehicles
