An Overview of E-Retailing through Android Applications
Abstract
Android is a mobile operating system. Android applications are like mobile software. It’s a platform to connect users and the application. Collections of Android applications are available in Android Market which is known as Google Play. This paper discusses about E-Retailing process on a Google Play Store by using Android Applications. The Web has been changing the retail market in many ways. Following a new market framework, this paper analyzes the unique characteristics of the Android for retail applications, examines its market effects, and presents the perspectives for business response strategies. The Smartphone can either be used as a marketing tool, which is integrated into android shopping applications and traditional business strategies, or can be viewed as a new marketplace, which demands new business design. The next generation of retailing is based on electronic gadgets like smart phones, tablet PC, Kindle, iPad, the surface computer etc. Currently, the fastest growing market for e-retailing involves the integration of android applications with web where these media compensate for the screens of smart phones. Finally, we propose some research issues and challenges that should be addressed to better our understanding and promote the success of this new marketplace.
