Power Flow Analysis of Hybrid AC-DC Microgrid

Vini Sara Paul, V. Vinduja, V.K. Fasil

Abstract

Hybrid microgrid is composed of individual AC and DC grid. And it is connected together by an interlinking converter. Here photovoltaic array is used as DC source and wind turbine as AC source. Main objective is to develop a co-ordinate control system for hybrid microgrid and to share the power which is in proportion to the power ratings. Droop control technique is used to manage the power flow through interlinking converter in the hybrid AC-DC microgrid. The operation of hybrid AC-DC microgrid and the power flow is investigated using MATLAB simulation. Four cases of power flow have been tested i) equal AC and DC load ii) high AC and low DC load iii) low AC and high DC load.
