Abstract

This paper provides a way for speed control of
induction motor using MOSFET, semiconducting device. The
advantage is that either single phase ac induction motor. i.e., speed control of three phase induction motor through single phase power supply, using embedded power system. Now-a-days speed control plays a important role in both industrial and domestic applications. Induction motors are most widely used motors for appliances, industrial control and automation. Hence they are often called as work house of motion industry. By varying the frequency we can
control the speed of induction motor effectively. This concept can be implemented for induction motor applications in industries with simple modifications .i.e., for higher rating of induction motor, IGBT can be used instead of MOSFET. This method leads to low tariff, reducing the electricity cost, increasing the efficiency of the motor due to variable speed drive.
