Performance Analysis of MRC Combiner Output for MQAM in Multiple Rician Fading Channels

Rupender Singh, S. K. Soni

Abstract

In this paper, we provide the performance analysis of Maximal Ratio Combiner (MRC) output for MQAM in Multiple Rician fading channels. The approximate formula of symbol error rates (SER) for MQAM over Gaussian channel have been used. Approximation is within 1 dB error for M ≥ 4 and 0 ≤ SNR ≤ 30 dB.The performance of fading communication systems measured in terms of probability of density function (PDF) of received signal to noise ratio (SNR), Absolute diversity gain in SNR (ADG) and Relative diversity gain in SNR (RDG). PDF has been plotted for different values of M, rice factor K and different number of diversity branches N. ADG and RDG also calculated for different number of diversity branches N.
