Performance Evaluation of LTE Systems with Signal Detection Algorithm
Abstract
This paper address the signal detection algorithms for Long Term Evolution (LTE) downlink Multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO)-Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). LTE standard is preferred in this work due to its advantages like high-data-rate, low-latency and packet-optimized radio access technology We briefly describe the system requirements for the Rel.8 LTE and LTE-advanced. Then, the architecture of LTE MIMO receiver according to 3GPP LTE draft is analyzed in a detailed manner. The multi carrier technique called OFDM is incorporated in MIMO systems which meet the downlink requirement for LTE system. M-ary QAM modulation technique is used here. Perfect channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT) is assumed to be known. The simulation for MIMO-OFDM system is carried out and shown that the Bit-Error-Rate (BER) is reduced as the Signal-to-Noise (SNR) increases. This Performance enhancement is due to the assurance of the orthogonality in the channel and diversity gain increase due to the MIMO arrangement. Then the signal detection algorithm is analyzed.
