Pharmacological Properties of Bauhinia Racemosa

D. Kesavan, Dr. C. Chellaram

Abstract

On pharmacological study the leaf extract showed good anti-diarrhoeal profiles in two models. The ethanol extract showed significant anti diarrhoeal activity comparing to control group. The results obtained was comparable to the of the standard drug activity used. So from this investigation relating to different approaches it is observed that leaves of Bauhinia racemosa Lam contains some steroidal, glycosidal and flavanoidal components. The ethanol extract showed significant anti-diarrhoeal activity and anti-inflammatory activity from Bauhinia Racemosa Lam.
