Fuzzy Performance Appraisal System

Abstract


The purpose of this paper is to propose a new fuzzy performance appraisal system (FPAS).The proposed methodaccountsboth intangible qualities of performance and quantitative measure of output of an employee in a structured appraisal system.The implication procedure of FPAS comprises of collection of appraisals from the supervisors, converting them into fuzzy numbers and derives theperformance evaluation score of an employee. To rank the fuzzy numbers we use the Scoring method. The proposed fuzzy performance appraisal system is more objective oriented, structured, informativeand rational. Numerical example demonstrates the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed method.
