Rainfall Prediction using Logistic Regression Technique

A. Geetha, Dr. G.M. Nasira

Abstract

Data mining is the process of efficient discovery, extracting or mining of knowledge from voluminous amount of data. It extracts hidden predictive information and it is a powerful new technology with great caliber, scope and potential to help in the process of data analysis and for making wise decisions. The increasing demand for accurate weather prediction here rainfall prediction is the need of the hour. This paper concentrates on Meteorological data mining, which focuses on mining meteorological data to give prediction. As a pilot study we sampled the model on existing rainfall data set to predict whether there was rainfall or not using Logistic regression technique.
