Intelligent Remote Messaging System using GSM

Robin Goel, Sanjay P. Sood, Jyoti Kedia

Abstract

Wireless communication has announced its arrival on big stage and the world is going mobile. This paper mainly focuses on transmission of textual data through air by use1 of GSM through asynchronous serial communication. This task accomplished by interfacing GSM modem with the microcontroller as the focal decision body. This paper presents development of three applications based on GSM – a SMS driven automatic display which can replace currently used programmable electronic display, detection of human movements using PIR sensor and prestored instant messaging system. The hardware that has been developed proves to be a useful remote monitoring of LCD display system integrated with the custom-built GSM controller board. The PIR sensor based system developed will prove to be a promising security system. Push Switch system will prove to be a good instant messaging system.

Keywords
