LLC Resonant Inverter Fed Ferromagnetic Load with Asymmetrical Voltage-Cancellation Control

A. Suresh, S. Rama Reddy

Abstract

Highly efficient LLC resonant inverter fed ferromagnetic load with asymmetric voltage-cancellation control technique is the state of the art technique. It uses a full-bridge topology for induction heating application. The converter operates effectively even for fluctuating source and it operates in zero-voltage switching mode (ZVS). In spite of variation in load magnitude, the operating frequency is automatically adjusted to maintain a constant lagging power angle. The switching devices need only a single DC power supply for gate driver circuitry which reduces the overall cost of the system. The output power is controlled by using the asymmetrical voltage-cancellation technique, which results in increase in the overall efficiency of the ferromagnetic load. The drawbacks in series or parallel resonant inverters are alleviated in LLC inverter. The present paper is targeted at the validation of the simulation results obtained [11] by the same author through experimental results and compare the same with conventional voltage control method.
