Self-Corrective Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract


The widespread use of small Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) has facilitated umpteen applications throughout the world. But all of them have a thing in common, called faults. Since the WSN is used even in regions that are inaccessible and where there is lack of technical knowledge, it becomes impossible for humans to intervene in the monitoring process. It is tedious to supervise these networks, built is vital to ensure the Quality of Service. Here, a fault detection technique and service management approach using autonomic computing paradigm and few concepts of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is evaluated. A solution to the issue is the Autonomic (self-healing) Wireless Sensor Networks, where the nodes are capable to monitor, diagnose and rectify the faults on their own.
