A Survey on Replica Placement Mechanisms with Awareness in Distributed Computing Networks

Shrihari A. Rathod, S.B.  Deshmukh

Abstract

In distributed systems, data placement and replication on variant nodes can change some problems such as availability and response time. Also, in data placement, there are some challenges to finding the best replica efficiently in relation to location of physical storage systems and performance. In this paper we discuss some of the popular data placement strategies available. Replica placement strategies help us to identify the best possible node to replicate our data keeping in mind user request and network latency. The discussed strategies measure and analyse different parameters and give results.
