A Study on Nanotechnology Applications: A Review Perspective

Danny D. Meetoo

Abstract

The interaction of nano particles with conventional materials dramatically changes all the physical parameters, which usually characterize the bulk material. Nanotechnology is generating a lot of attention these days and therefore building great assumptions not only in the academic clique but also among investors, the governments, and industry. Its unique capability to manufacture new structures at atomic scale has already produced novel materials and devices with great potential applications in a wide number of fields. While experimentation is critical, a theoretical understanding is also imperative and with changed physical parameters, existing persistence theories may still be able to capture critical phenomena. It presents one of the exciting new fields of research that holds potential to address many of the pressing needs in all areas of the food and agriculture. Chemical Industry has played a very important role in developing not only nano materials but also make use of them in various applications. One field where nanotechnology has created a ripple is the paint coatings. Many states are seriously looking at military applications of this technology. This paper analyses the impact of NT on defence and looks at its current and futuristic applicability for military purposes, as well as their likely impact on arms control.
