Abstract

In traditional industrial system there is a possibility of faulty products being produced along with the good products. These may sometimes go unnoticed to the packing sector and they mix up with the good ones. This leads to many controversies from the customers. There is a need for automation to detect these faulty products so that only good products are packed and sent out to the world and the status of the company is maintained. The implementation is done by attaching a video camera over the conveyor where the finished products come out. The implementation also has a compression process to compress and store the captured frame to store it for future reference. H.264 algorithm is used here for compression. This uses discrete cosine transform to do the compression.
