Enhancement of HC2D Barcode Reader for Efficient Data Recognition

V. Aparna, R. Muthukumar

Abstract

The barcode contains the data which are built by a specific patterns. The lines, dots and space in the barcode represents the information of the product. Generally barcode are capable of storing date in binary format. Barcodes are classified into three types namely 1D, 2D and 3D. One dimensional barcodes contains the date in the form of parallel lines and differentiated by its space. Two dimensional barcodes holds the data in the form of dots, square and other geometric patterns. The next level of the barcode evaluation, is a 3D barcode. It is similar to 2D the only difference is I can felt when touched. Among these 2D barcode are popular and efficient than other in real time applications. HC2D barcode is a high capacity two dimensional barcode. It can hold binary data and alpha numeric. In smaller area also it can hold larger data. HC2D barcode is apt for displaying on printing media because of the size efficiency. The data in the barcode can be retrieved with the help of barcode reader. The recognition rate obtained in the existing method is 93%.In this technique the recognition rate is improved up to 95.5 with the help of filter.
