Modeling and Simulation of RC Beams using ANSYS by APDL Batch Mode Approach

G. Vasudevan, Dr.S. Kothandaraman

Abstract

This paper deals with modeling and simulation of RC beams for the prediction nonlinear behaviour using ANSYS 12.0 by batch mode using the ANSYS Parametric Design Language. Various modelling issues such as material properties, geometrical modelling, nonlinear aspects and post-processing of the analysis using the APDL listing is presented. The salient features of batch mode approach, its advantages during pre and post-processing stages are discussed. The tough task of modelling the RC beams in ANSYS and extracting various output parameters in graphical and text format for further study on the behaviour is also presented in this paper.
