Biometric Authentication and Bioinformatics Investigation

R.  Shrihari

Abstract

Biometric is one of the unique ways of identifying a person, it is the process by which each person’s biological traits is been distinguished and used in many places and even in our day to day life. It can make the process secure and it can allow only that specified person to get inside that process, no one can cheat a person through biometrics because it involves that particular person’s biological identities and since each person has different types of biological traits all of them are unique, no theft is possible. The usage of biometrics is very much important in this growing world and it helps many people to secure their important data and it also makes that secure that only that person can access it.

Bioinformatics is the process of converting this biological traits into a generic code through which the computer can record and use it for future for security purpose. It contains a huge process and it should also be done very accurately because a slight mistake in the code can make the identity to not work and that identity might become an invalid one.  It combines several fields like mathematics, computer science, statistics makes use of some engineering processes like converting the biological data into that specific code for the computer to identify and process accordingly.
