Automated Facial Expression Recognition Based on SVD

Abstract


This study aims at developing intelligent computers or robots that are mind implemented. As a first we investigate the emotionally intelligent computers which can perceive human emotions. In this research paper we have implemented Principle Component Analysis (PCA) using Singular Value Decomposition to recognize universally recognized five principal emotions namely angry, disgust, happy, sad and surprise along with neutral. Recognition rate of 100% for all five principal emotions along with neutral is obtained on training set.
