Implementation of Real Time Distributed Control System with Embedded Controller using CAN Protocol

Abstract


Communication networks are of utmost important for
automation solutions. Demand of modern industrial network are less cabling, a seamless information flow from the actuators/sensors,ability to cover entire factory with real time communication, quick data exchange between the different plant sections. In this paper the implementation and optimization of Distributed control system for controlling the temperature and pressure of coolant (Nitrogen) is proposed. The work is oriented on the part of distributed control system with embedded systems interconnected by the industrial bus CAN. The control of actuators to maintain the optimized value using PICOS18 an embedded real-time operating system with preemptive support is discussed. The system has dynamic data logging in control room.
