Abstract

Recently the usage of renewable energy resources has increased since there is a large gap between demand and supply. In southern part of Tamilnadu, Chennai many wind farms have been installed. There is a wide range of machines used for the same, among which the DFIG with full converter control is taken for study. This paper gives an overview of modeling and simulation of DFIG coupled with wind turbine through the full converter. The main advantage of DFIG with full converter over the other generator, it is being using the most of the wind applications. The aim of using full converter is gives the 100%output compared to other converter. Finally the result shows the response of simulation model of DFIG with full converter by using the PSCAD.
