Impact of Fuzzy Logic on Acceptance Sampling Plans – A Review

Abstract


Acceptance Sampling is a major field of Statistical Quality Control. Quality Control is the important aspect used by the practitioners in the manufacturing industries. It is a methodology that deals with procedures for making a decision whether to accept or reject the lot based on inspection of samples according to the attribute quality characteristic. Over the decade, research studies have been developed based on Fuzzy set theory and are used to solve problems of impreciseness arising in Quality Control which improves the efficiency and simplicity. This paper highlights the applications of Fuzzy set theory in various acceptance sampling plans such as Single Sampling Plan, Double Sampling Plans with Binomial and Poisson distribution.
