Advanced Vehicle Tracking and Display System

R. Indhumathi, K.S. Murugesan

Abstract

Vehicle Position Tracking can be implemented using Global Positioning System (GPS) and transmitting information about the vehicle’s position using Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM).The GPS system installed in the vehicle is to track the position and GSM modem for providing communication between vehicle and users. The Vehicle unit tracks the position of a vehicle using GPS and send this information to the users. It also contains LCD display to receive messages from various users. The receiver module receives information about bus location from bus coming towards a particular bus stop. This proposed design offers low cost, less complex and reliable system. Thus an efficient system is developed for vehicle tracking. Some applications of position tracking systems are mobile robots, land surveying and location based services.
