Abstract

Autonomy and independent lifestyle in the environment they live in is a key requirement for disabled/ handicapped people. Smart assistance through IoT based devices are becoming popular these days to help people with disabilities to cope up with their difficulties. In this paper we present a concise overview of an IoT based wheelchair module with eye blink control that utilizes Haar- Cascade algorithm and AdaBoost Classifier implementation. It also throws light on the key challenges while furnishing the module. Prominence of using a proximity sensor has been proclaimed.
