Abstract

In today‟s service oriented applications, it is very critical to serve the customers effectively and efficiently. During travelling also we require the application which is very useful for the travellers. Existing „Android‟ applications are proving incompetent for addressing all necessary facilities during travelling. Applications do provide individual facilities for navigation, bookings, news and others like weather forecast. Still none of the applications has the capability singly to provide user his Geolocation, offer bookings suitable according to his position and provide travelling facilities in accordance to it. Thus the problem as a whole is to provide user with complete travelling package which has been rarely available yet in a single application. The application built as result of this project will provide a complete solution to travelers needs. He shall be in a position to determine not only his Geolocation but also capable of getting information about nearby important places like tourist locations, hotels, etc. The application must route its user to his desired destination from his current location. It shall be not only capable of providing user weather conditions about his current locations but also weather forecast about his destination. The application should provide its user locations or contact information of emergency facilities like hospitals, police stations, fire brigades, etc. The application should not only address travelling specific needs but also needs which need to be addressed on a routine basis and continued while travelling. Such needs include medicine reminders and daily news updates. It shall also provide elementary medical tips on first aid. The methods used for this application are Android SDK, Google API and using java and eclipse platform is applied to develop the applications of intelligent mobile devices with GPS.
